Ingredient of the week: Olive Oil

We love Olive Oil.

Good morning, another week, another Monday, and another ingredient of the week.

For those of you that are new to the Sinensis blog, every Monday we post short snippets of information about ingredients that we love, and why you should love them too!

We believe that educating our customers on what they’re putting on their skin is imperative to our brand values, so without further ado, let’s get started with this week’s drop of sunshine: Olive Oil.

Out of all the ingredients that we have spoken about so far, we can almost guarantee that you’ve heard of Olive Oil.

Not only can you drizzle it on salads, use it as a dip with vinegar and bread, but it is also a key ingredient in many beauty and healthcare products.

Olive oil is derived from (you guessed it!) olives, and has been used in skincare for centuries..

It is rich in linoleic acid which keeps moisture from evaporating from skin to prevent dry skin. It contains several different antioxidants help neutralize damaging free radicals that can lead to skin ageing.

Olive Oil provides your skin with vitamin A and E for extra protection from environmental assaults. It is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. Phew!

All in all, this ingredient is nothing short of super!
